2011 Award Winners announced

[23rd January 2011, Riyadh] The winners of the 2011 King Khalid Awards for Responsible Competiveness were announced tonight at the Global Competitiveness Forum, taking place in Riyadh. This year's winners were: Saudi Basic Industrial Company, SABIC, (1st), the National Commercial Bank (2nd), the International Medical Centre and Dr Fakeeh Hospital (sharing 3rd place).

Led by the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA) and the King Khalid Foundation,the Awards are given to those companies that demonstrate they are managing social and environmental issues to increase firm-level competitiveness and support social development in the Kingdom.

Alongside the three main Awards, seven other companies were recognised for good performance: ACWA Power (for its actions to build a Responsible Business Climate); Zain (for its Smart Philanthropy); Al Rajhi Bank (for Attracting and Retaining Talent); the National Petrochemical Industrial Company (for Business Standards and Compliance); Marafiq, the Power and Utility Company for Jubail and Yanbu (for Supply Chains); the Middle East Paper Company (MEPCO) (for Product and Service Innovation); and Makkah Construction and Development (for Responsible Communications).
